Upgrading the card not only helps improving all stats but also can acquire two rare attributes: Counter and Bonus Reward. It is a handy feature for cardholders. If you're lucky, you could increase your Rare stats by 1 (doesn't apply to cards with a current Rare of 5). Particularly for cards with the Rare level of 5, the Bonus Reward index will be higher than other cards when upgrading.
The essential materials for upgrading are two items called Garnet and Spinel.
Garnet and Spinel are two items that you can only get through PvP mode. After each battle, you will have a random chance of getting 1 of the 2 items above. Both are indispensable materials for card upgrade. Alternatively, you can buy and sell them at Marketplace.
